Hello fellow sports reporters,
The state of sports media, and journalism in general, is exhilarating, terrifying and ever-changing.
In the face of that chaos, there’s opportunity.
I want to share my thoughts on how best to navigate that opportunity within the landscape of local television.
I graduated from Arizona State and the Walter Cronkite School in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and master’s degree in mass communication. I’ve been a television sports reporter and anchor for the past decade.
I began my professional broadcast career in Medford, Oregon at KDRV NewsWatch 12 and have made stops at KVUE in Austin, Texas, where I was a weekend anchor, and KING 5 in Seattle, where I was a sports MMJ. I currently work as a sports anchor and reporter at KPNX 12 News in Phoenix.
I’ve been lucky enough to learn from and work with some of the best journalists in the country, culminating in my sports reporting winning a regional Emmy and Murrow Award in Seattle.
Over the past few years, I’ve discovered a passion for helping those aspiring for a career in local TV and those hoping to take the next step within the industry.
In addition to serving as a faculty associate at the journalism school at Arizona State, I also do individual consulting with the following structure:
